Just a short note to ... erm ... note that the author for the upcoming WFRP adventure The Edge of Night is none other than Graeme Davis!
It will be very interesting to see what he will make out of the current WFRP rules and setting, and I have high hopes that it will harken back to the early WFRP pieces penned by the esteemed mr Davis.

I don't think Fantasy Flight Games will allow that, especially with their agenda of wanting to turn everything into a board game !!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I always keep hoping, and I think FFG has shown a greater initial understanding of WFRP than BI did at the beginning of their tenure.
ReplyDeleteSo I think that FFG will let Davis have more freedom than he did when writing for BI. Or at least I hope so.
As for the risk of it becoming a board game ... hmmm ... I don't think it will turn into a straight board game in this iteration, but rather an rpg with a higher emphasis on the "game" part than previous editions, with regards to components and stuff.

I understand what you are saying, but I really think FFG have missed the point about what WFRP is, and it is definately becoming less 'dark' which is lets face it, what makes WFRP what it is. I think I'll stick with the 1st and 2nd Editions, more so the 1st Edition. Even the 2nd Edition is a little faded in comparison. Rich.
ReplyDeleteWe'll probably stay with 2nd edition rules, and a mixture of 1st/2nd/3rd edition world. :-)
ReplyDeleteProbably more 1st and 3rd than 2nd, but we'll have to see what the mix turns out to be in the end.
Hmmm ... come to think about it, 2nd ed rules, with Warpstone view of the world. That's more likely. :-)
Thanks for stopping by!
