WFRP: Seals and Letters Galore!

It should come as no surprise to my readers that I am a big fan of the work done by Dave Graffam to produce high quality handouts and GM aids for WFRP. Last year I posted about his seals and ribbons, and Dave has now released even more of the good stuff to print and hand out to the players, building on that Old World atmosphere. I particularily like the letters! Get them at the following links:

Ribbons 1
Ribbons 2
Ribbons 3
Ribbons 4
Ribbons 5
Ribbons 6
Seals 1

I also think any GM will find the excellent parchment backgrounds that Andreas Blicher has put together very useful. He has graciously allowed me to use the backgrounds for my own handouts, which add immensely to their look and feel. And he's offering them for download at his site!

Hochland parchment
Reikland parchment
Talabheim parchment

So with the seals, letter and ribbons from Dave and the parchment backgrounds from Andreas, a GM's got what he needs to put that authentic look on his own handouts!

  1. Hi Magnus,

would it be okay if I used the Talabheim parchment for a website background (although I do plan to photoshop it and add layers to it)?

Please lemme know if thats okay. Thanks a bunch !

  2. Hello Sourabh! Thanks for visiting!

I have myself received permission from Andreas Blicher to use the backgrounds, so I think the best thing to do is for you to drop him an e-mail.

I can't seem to find his e-mail address at the moment, though. His site is found at www.andreas.blicher.info.

    Cheers!

  3. I would also like to use Mr. Blicher's Talabheim background, but there is no contact information on his website.

  4. I managed to get hold of him, he wanted way-way-too-much $$$$ to use his Talabheim background. I might have gone 10X or even 15X the going rate at Bigstockphoto.com or iStockphoto.com, but 500-800X the going rate is a little steep.

  5. Hmm, sounds a bit uncharacteristic. But them's the breaks. If you feel like dropping me his contact info, that'd be great. I don't want to take advantage of his generosity if he has reconsidered.

  6. hello Magnus,
I would like very much to use one of the parchment paper for a simple website background too. I dont see contact info at Andreas site. Would you know the contact info or maybe can ask for me if it would be ok. I would greatly appreciated.

  7. Hello!

I don't have Andreas contact info, since I can't find his mail to me in my inbox.

I have had several requests for this though, so what I'm going to do is ask a friend of mine to make a set of parchments that I can offer for download here on the site.

Might have it done before end of november, so check back then!

  8. And I am stepping up to the plate.

I’m not sure how soon I can get this done, though—so in the meantime I might as well ask if there are any particular formats people would like, or if I should just go with som hi-res images suitable for printing in A4.

  9. A4 and Letter, I think. One in portrait mode and one in landscape. Makes four variations, if that's possible.

    Hi-res = good.

  10. I really like the Reikland, if I can get something simillar that would be wonderful. yes high res would be great. Thank you much.

  11. OK. I’m thinking two different textures—one paper and one parchment.

And then a bunch of variations of those:

    • New
    • Aged
    • Creased
    • Distressed
    • Blotted
    • &c.

I won’t bother with the orientation, though. If you want them in landscape format—well I’m fairly certain that most people can rotate the images themselves.

And the size will most probably be 210 × 279 mm (the shared surface area of A4 and letter) with a 5 mm transparent printer margin.

All I need now is some spare time …
